Hi I wish to install a remote starter (I think it will be an lcd remote one) on my 2001 Chevy Impala. Is there anything I need to know before starting?

Thanks, David.

Hey David,
Apart from getting the appropriate diagram, here are a couple of hints from experience.
1) If you use the white negative trigger parking light, then you've got to isolate this wire from the BCM when doing remote start to avoid 'service engine soon' light from turning on.
2) The Brown second accessory wire has to be fed but it must be fed as an ACCESSORY. If powered as an second ignition the car will not crank.
3) Every single one that I've done to date have OEM antigrind (simply pulse to the start wire and the ECM does the rest - no need for tach wire)

Thanks A lot guys, for the info. I will get started on it soon (as soon as I have time off from school) and hope all goes well.

Thanks again, Dave.
