04 Dodge Ram door ajar light

I installed a audiovox aps685 remote start in my 04 ram. When I unlock the doors the "door ajar light " on dash goes on before you open the door and then goes off once you start the truck.  any ideas what's causing this.  Thanks.

As you stated, when you unlock the doors-I suppose "disarm."  The door ajar light comes on, does the domelight come on too?  Upon disarming the alarm it'll unlock the doors, and turn on the domelight(if wired with domeslight supervision).  Did you try waiting for 30 seconds or more to see what it does?
