I installed a Commando EZ-2500 R.S on this vehicle about a week ago. It worked great. I had it set up on Tach less mode. I then installed the same unit on a F 250 Harley Davision truck and it will start sometimes and not other times. Both of these vehicles are diesel. I set the timer on the unit for 15 seconds for the glow plugs. I have been beating my head against the wall on this one. The only difference between the two vehicles is that the Harley edition one has the pats system and the other one did not. The bypass on the truck is not the problem because when it starts it runs fine. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance.

Hook it up to tach. Tach wire can be found inside the vehicle. There is a thick harness behind the fuse box with about 5 wires taped to it. The GREEN / WHITE wire is your tach. Try that and see if it fixes your problem.

I tried that wire and it does not test as a tach wire should. I also was told by the manufacture of the unit that the 04 trucks use a low level tach signal and the unit cannot "see"it. I dont know if there is any truth to it but thats what they said. I am going to swap the cpu out and see if there might be a problem with the voltage sense on that unit. Ever heard of that ? I quess its possible. Well thanks for the reply and I will post what happens.
