Sorry if this has been answered before.. I'm a Newb  I've got a 2002 Chevy Avalanche with an AudioVox Prestige APS996a alarm installed. Before I had the alarm installed, I had illuminated entry with the keyless remote- now, after the alarm, I don't and I want it back! On this alarm, apparently the green w/ white trace wire is hte illuminated entry. Now, assuming that its not hooked up (I haven't looked), where would I connect this wire to? Also, would i need to connect this circuit to the puddle lamps under the mirrors for them to work as well, or is there an easier way? Thanks for any advice you all might have!

-Owen

Hook the domelight supervision(off the alarm) to the door trigger(driver or passenger wire).  I am not familiar with your type of alarm.  But if you say it's that GREEN / WHITE wire, check the polarity.

The driver door trigger is gray/black at the driver door module in the door. The RF door trigger is BLACK/ white at the passenger door module in the door. The LR door trigger is lt. blue/black and the RR is lt. GREEN/ black, they are in a harness in front of the fuse box leading to the BCM rear plug.(from bulldogsecurity.com)

Thanks.... the wire coming off the alarm is a ground output with a 300 mA max. Will this be able to handle the ground without a relay if I connect is straight into one of hte door triggers?

I didn't use a relay.  The Pros suggested I do.  I've been lazy, but I should do it soon.

The GREEN / WHITE wire is rated alrighoned.t to trigger any one of the foor door ajar wires. You only have to connect it to one of them to activate the BCM into thinking one of them is open. These wires are low current. You can't connect it directly to any one of the lamps directly as they draw more current than the Audiovox unit can handle. You burn out the output within seconds. If you want to hook it up directly you must do so with the use of a relay to handle the current of all the interior lights. The door wires mentioned earlier are actualy for a 2003 truck. The wire you need is either the tan wire in the 16 pin plug of the BCM in cavity B4 or the orange wire in cavity B2 in the same plug. The rear doors are in the center plug of the BCM (blue/white in cavity B11)
