A customer called me today and stated after driving her 2003 jeep liberty for approx. one hour the car stopped running at highway speeds and then would not start. She then had it towed to the dealer. After being towed the vehicle runs fine, the dealer has found no problem. He then told her that it was the remote start that caused the problem and she should talk to me. After talking with him he can't tell me why he thinks it was the remote start but he's "seen it in the past". Is this even possible? I've been doing this a long time and have never heard of vehicle stopping at highway speeds because of a remote start. Sorry for the very long post but any help would be appreciated. I'm going to have to tell her something when she comes in. thanks

The dealer is just trying to avoid being responsible for that, a remote starter cannot do anything while the key is in the igntion, specially not at highway speeds.

It's possible, but only if you were to cut the ignition wires rather than tap in. Then possibly, you could have a faulty connection (cold solder joint).

It is possible that something isn't fully plugged in or possibly that the tach wire shorted to ground. This would cause the engine to stall.

check the tach line i have seen this happen on a ford truck .
