Can anyone tell me what this means below?

door lock harness, 3-pin connector

BLUE (+) LOCK (-) UNLOCK OUTPUT
EMPTY NOT USED
GREEN (-) LOCK (+) UNLOCK OUTPUT

I don't underdstand the whole (+) and (-) thing.

I plan on putting this unit in a 2004 Scion Xb.

Thanks in advance.

the unit can do both positive pulse and negative pulse locks without adding relays! Check the lock sytem u have in your car if it is negative u would use green for lock and blue for unlock if it is positive u would wire it the oposite way!

most alarms/remote starts cant do + locks because they take too much power for the brain to supply, so they generally supply a - pulse to drive - door locks or act as a - trigger for a relay.

SO, using blue on + systems will act as a lock trigger, and unlock on - systems.  vice versa for green.  many newer DEI units can do + door locks.  i know the avatal 4000 is labeled + and - but it still cant drive + systems, you have to use the 451m relay, which is basically 2 relays in one.

It comes with a 451M but if you don't use it you can always store it in your box, and save it for a customer that may need it.

huh that's funny as most cars that I have seen that are positive pulse are pulsing factory relays from the switches. And a positive pulse off an alarm will activate factory relays without adding more! Im not saying all positrive pulse sytems will work but most do!
most alarms pulse a 200 ma output that is plenty to pulse relays!!
