Hi all
I'm new here. I have a 1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR4 (5speed) and it has a factory alarm. The alarm is activated by locking the doors with the key and then deactivated by unlocking with the key... I have ALL schematics for this car...
I am installing a remote car starter/alarm system that is specifically for a manual tranny...
what kinds of problems might I have with the install due to the stock alarm???
Could it be as simple as cutting the wire off the key mechanism in the door that activates this stock alarm, or can i just let it be...???
I also have a turbo timer that allows the car to cool down for a predetermined amount of time. Will this cause any problems with the alarm or remote start function?
I do have some electronics experience with car stereos, installing aftermarket components on turbo cars etc... so i don't think this is out of my realm...

The stock alarm should not cause any problem at all, as long as it is not activated. There are methods to bypass the factory alarms, but you should not need to do so for this particular vehicle. Cutting the wire off the key mechanism should not be required at all.
The turbo timer should also function as usual and the remote start will not interfere with that.
