Hi,
I searched the whole forum but couldn't really find the ans to my question. I was planning on buying DEI 515R which has 4 outputs (pos/neg power and pos/neg trigger). I was going to install the siren to my car w/o using either of the trigger wires because I just care for it to go off when the power gets pulled. Does the siren work like this?
Thanks!

The DEI backup battery I had was an actual siren and it went off with the alarm as well.

That is not really my question. I don't want to hook up the triggers to my alarm. I just want it to go off when the bettery is connected. Does that work?

the way those work is they go off when the alarm brian looses power. the instant trigger on the alarm becomes ground when the power is cut, and the the backup sees ground is goes off.

Is there any way to hook it up without an alarm brain?

it gets very comlicated, unless you are very comfortable with car security i suggest you do not attempt. you have to set up two relays that when one looses 12v (when they take off the pos side of batt) that it show continuity to ground to the back up battery, and the same with neg side of the battery.
