I have an ultrastart 2256m installed on my 93 pontiac trans am. It has been working fine, until now. Every time the parking lights came on or flashed, there was a loud buzzing noise coming out of the box. I unplugged it. Now, when I plug it in, the alarm chirps constantly until I turn the key in the ignition. I have already had to get a new brain, the last one the lock circuit was bad. Is this a faulty one as well. If so, is Ultrastart just a POS all together, or do I just have bad luck?

It will do nothing but chirp, until the key is turned. The siren has been malfunctioning a little, it has not always chirped when it should have lately. Did that circuit go bad in the brain?

Or, could this be some type of feedback causing it to do this?

I install Ultrastart everyday. The loud buzzing is usually related to a bad ground.

Know anything about the constant chirping? It speeds up when I unplug the lock/unlock wires, and slows down when I plug them back in.

It's a bad ground....my 96 did the same thing with my crappy OMEGA remote start/Freedom alarm, it also went off for no reason a lot. Throwing the entire system in the garbage and buying a Viper has solved the problem. lol
