I am installing a audivox prestige keyless entry and remote start unit in my 1995 Dodge Intrepid. I have it completed except for the tach wire. I have tried every wire that people on here have told me to check and none of them work.  It has a V-6, coil pack has a 4 wire connector on it with a red, black, white and GREEN/ orange wire. I have tried evryone of these wires with no luck. I tried the WHITE/ black at the pcm in the passenger kick panel with no luck. I tried the different colored wire at the injectors with no luck. where else should I check? the remote start is setup for tach signal, should I try switching it to voltage? what wire should I use if I switch it to voltage signal?

Thanks

Yea I would try switching to voltage. You may have an unreliable tach wire. You don't need any wire to switch to voltage. Just the programming. Hope this helps...good luck.

you must definitely be doing something wrong if neither the coil or injector works, maybe tachless will work for you but you may want to double check your connections and programming, i think the odds of what you are saying are almost 0.

tech soft says use the red white or black at the coil pack.  make sure the tach wire from the brain hasnt been stretched or grounded to the fire wall.  take an AC voltage reading of the coil wire at the coil, then meter the tach wire at the brain and make sure they match.  then, make sure the remote start unit sees ignition (usually required for tach learning), the ground for the brain must be less than .4ohms, and that the programming feature for engine checkng type is set to tach.

use the red wire at one of the coils, it should work like a charm provided the fact nothing else is messed up.
