I installed the remote 2 months ago and everything was working great. Now in the last week or so sometimes when I start it with the key it will fire up and shut down right away. Then try to start it again and it just cranks over but not starting. Then I start it with the remote and all is ok for a few days. Any ideas.

What is the current state of the vehicles maintenance?

How many miles are on this car? Is the vehicle driven alot, or only short trips?

What is the current battery voltage at idel, and at rest?

ie. Elelctrical power system, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, battery, alternator, cables, etc.

Regards

thats what I was thinking too, or a bad relay in the remote start side, coil burns off after a second or two...and as our friends at dei tech support say...

"sounds like a bad ground"

"sounds like a bad ground"................. I think this is a good diagnosis from the Professionals at DEI Tech Support posted_image. You must have read that forum post about the DEI tech's too ? I'd try a different module or a different remote starter CPU just to make sure that you have exhausted all possibilities.

:)...no i didnt...I had them do this to me the other day, I went back to my old shop cause I was having a problem with my RS, and my guys were busy so I called myself while I was there, adn the dude blew me off, and was like check your grounds. I was pissed....

but on their forum they are getting ripped by everyone....sh*tty range on the new units, sh*tty units on the new units, tech support is terrible... etc....

It was funny though posted_image. Sounds like DEI is going down hill but still people insist of selling them and promoting them even though they have a bad rap now. I don't know, but sounds to me like people should drop them and maybe they might get off their high horse and do some customer ( dealer ) service calls properly.

Larry, did you have any luck with the solution to your problem ??
