the alarm/remote start is a clifford 3.5rs, I am grounding out the clutch switch tricking the car into thinking that the clutch is pressed in, the 555u is working properly. using tach wire instead of voltage sensing as well. this is my problems. first off when remote starting the car starts but does not stop cranking, for some reason as long as the clutch switch is pressed in the car keeps sending power to the starter and it grinds continuously until I unground the switch even if i press it in with my foot and remote start it it does the same thing it grinds until i take my foot off the clucth. this really messing with my head. 2nd problem is that that even when i press the clutch in and remote start it so that I can release the clutch immediatey to prevent it from grinding the car runs for about 5-10 seconds and then shuts down and the remote start program activates again trying to restart the car. again I'm using the tach wire, what would cause it to shut down after starting up? why is it grinding as long as the clutch switch is pressed in?
"Does not stop cranking..." - RS unit is not detecting the car has started, could be a TACH mode issue. Might want to try voltage sensing or verify with a DMM the TACH wire you're using.
"for some reason..." - When you release the clutch or unground the switch, the car's computer cuts off the starter.
"5-10 seconds and shuts down..." - Your 555U might not be functioning correctly.
You need to fix the non-stop crank first before you can figure out the 555U problem.
check your tach again, and learn it if you havent already done so. which tach wire you grabbin from?
its not ur clutch, it doesnt matter how long you hold down on that clutch or ground it, the starter suppose to stop.

desribe how you are powering both of the start wires in the vehicle...
thanks for the reply's, i have figured out the proble thanks to this forum's old posts. this is what was happening. when engaging the clutch switch it was opening the circuit that sends power the nissans second starter and since I was trying trick the switch my jumping both wires together it was always open and always sending signal to the second starter which is why it was still grinding even after starting. This doesn't really make sense though because you can start the car by pushing in the clutch with your foot and still hold the clutch in and it wont grind, but anyhow I used a relay that would activate the clutch switch only while trying to remote start and then release.
