ok i found the wire. it shows 12v when the trunk is closed? and none when it opens. problem is i hooked up the neg trigger wire, but after about 1/2 hour the alarm goes off for no reason. any suggestions?

did you diode isolate it from the other triggers?

On Fords like that the GEM shuts down after like 1/2 hr or so to conserve battery power, and that change in voltage can cause a false alarm trigger. To fix that the easiest way is to wire diodes inline on the trunk and door trigger wires, with the striped side facing away from the GEM and the alarm's input wires tapped on the striped side.
