Please help!!
I am installing an alarm in a 2000 Expedition. I don't have the original keless entry remote, but it does have the module under the drivers side dash. I want to know how to find the wires, were to cut them since it is apparently a 5-wire reverse pol. I have searched the forums and install diagrams, but only get the colors, no other information.
I would appreciate any help.

Thanks
Steve

wires can usually be found at the module to the left of the steering column...neg if factory keyless, RP if no factory keyless, cut in and add your DRL module or relays whereever its comfortable

Every Expedition ever made came with Keyless. The wires are negative trigger at the keyless module. Don't cut the wires, just tap onto them. Colors are pink / YELLOW and pink/green.

I would have to disagree with JWorm. I just did an expedition today that did not have keyless(brand new), and it has reverse polarity locks. Contact the manufacture of your unit and ask for tech support... they should be able to email or fax you a copy of the diagram that you need.

I really appreciate everyones response. But if JWorn is wrong, what is the correct connections. I don't want to try 'tapping in' if is will short something out.
Has anyone actually wiried an 2000 Expedition door locks to alarm?

use a multi meter or DVM.

if its not a neg system, then it would be a 5 wire system.

chances are it will be the first one....

04 or 03? Those ALL have keyless. You just don't know where the factory keyless is. Its located high in the passenger kick panel in the recent years. You must have somehow found the motor wires instead of the (-) trigger wires.

Yes....I've probably done over 30 of the 1997-2002 Expeditions. They all have the exact same wiring. Every single one has factory keyless entry and (-) doorlocks, and every single one has a transponder key. I even worked on one earlier today.

I would have to agree with JWorm on this one all the newer expos have factory keyless and are all negative pulse.

Great. I will try your suggestion and let you know the results.
Thanks again-

Thank you JWorn and Draasch. I tapped in and it works great. Obviously I checked to see if a neg pulse would work first, and it did.

Now one more question:
The interior dome light. I want to connect it to the door trigger of the alarm. I noticed on the specs from Draasch it should be a Blk/Blue + in the pass kick panel. Is this correct?

Thanks for all the help.

I found these wires accessable thru the football shaped removable panel on top of the dash. The wires are in the harness atop the heater box... just a thought.
