I just installed an Audiovox APS-996 alarm in my 98 explorer, but the remote start doesn't function. When I try to remote start , the dash lights go on, and the starter cranks, but no starting. I am using a DEI 555U transponder bypass, and I hear it click when the remote start command is issued. Can somebody tell me what to do? THe alarmm works well otherwise.

Put your key in the ignition with it in the off position then try to start with the remote. if it starts then you know that you have a problem with the transponder bypass. If it doesn't start turn the key to the on position and then try to start with the remote again. If it starts this time you know that something is not getting powered from the remote starter. If this is the case double check all of your wires with the diagram for that truck.

take the key out of the 555u and try tsarting the car with that key, if it starts, then you have a problem with the 555u, if it does not start, then you have a problem with the key.
