I installed a Commando fm870 combo unit and the remote start part won't work,The alarm and door locks work fine. The van won't even crank when i use the remote or when I ground the WHITE/ blue remote start test wire.I checked the brake wire and the hood pin wires and they are not the problem,I think it might be a bad brain.

It's a 2000 dodge ram van.

You must Program the unit for the Remote start feature. You must chose either voltage checking, tach checking or voltage mode. Try this and it should work fine.

I am no expert but I put a commando 560 on my truck and you had to do the tach, voltage, etc check before it would let you attempt the remote start. it worth checking out before you tear back into the brain.

let us know what you come up with
