I'm installing a remote start alarm in a 2004 Lincoln Navigator and I'm using the dei 555p and I can't get it to program to the vehicle keys. I've wired everything up properly but I'm not sure what the function of the remote start status wire is. The diagram states (-) remote start input... blue wire. Any help is appreciated.

if I'm not mistaken that unit will not work on that car (555P) you need to use a valet key and use the 555U

Is up to the installer to test all wires with a DMM whenever possible.

The 555P won't work with that truck. A PKU-F2 from bypasskit.com will work, or you will have to give up one of your keys.

The 555p will not work on Ford vehicals that have securelock, securelock requires  the dei 555u which a key needs to be put inside of it, the 555p will work on the ford vehicals that have  the pats security.

also if you have never installed  an alarm or remote starter i suggest that you let a car audio store do this for you

The 555p will not work on fords with securelock, the 555u will have to be used which requires a key, the 555p only works on the pats systems

as far as the blue wire.  connect it to a wire from the alarm that has a negative polarity when remote starting.  a.k.a. status output wire.  wire is usually blue/black  on dei and dei clones.
