Did an install of an 880xp on a 2002 honda accord and for some reason the srs light came on - during the install we accidently tapped into a few wires that we weren't suppose to but are now in the right wire, could this have caused the light to come ON and now the dealer has to turn it off or what? any ideas as to what typically will cause this to come on? thanks in advance

Yes, your actions are what caused this to happen. Just take this to your dealer and they will fix it. Just say that it just came on. If you tell them the truth, then they will not fix it if it happens again unless you remove what you installed.
It happened to me when I took out the seats in my 2003 Honda civic without disconnecting the battery. It took them less than 10 minutes to fix it, but because they had other cars in for service they took 3 hours to get to my car.
P.S. Honda will fix anything having to do with the SRS, seat belts and any other safety device for the lifetime of the vehicle.
in my opinion the main reason why this light came on is because you didn't properly test your wires.
"we accidently tapped into a few wires that we weren't suppose to but are now in the right wire"
that car is pretty straight foreward not a very hard install..... just remember all ways use a digital multimeter and never connect if your not sure always get a second opinion
