I have a friend who has had an alarm installed....  when someone touches the door handle...  the siren will sound off..  for however long the person has his hand on the door..  as soon as the hand is removed from the door..  the siren stops..

WHAT IS THAT?!?!  and how do i hook it up?

Sounds to me like it may be something similar to a touch switch, the kind that is used on table lamps, etc. You know, you touch the lamp and it turns on, touch it again and it goes brighter, touch it again and it goes off. I've downloeaded circuit diagrams for this circuit and have plans to build one but I had intended on using it to control my desklamp. But?????

I have installed that before, just be creative and install a pinswith to the door mechanism so that when the dfoor handle is pulled, the siren goes off, just look at the door handle mechanism and be creative.

If it's on something like a Grand-Am where the domelight comes on with the pull of the handle then it's a no-brainer. Otherwise he would have had to install a switch on to the mechanism.
A touch switch like a table lamp wouldn't work 'cause they're capacitance based with respect to line neutral.
If he placed a PCB with parallel lines etched on it then connected these to a capacitance circuit then that'll do but probably would be inneffective wearing gloves...
