I just had a Python 881XP Two-way alarm w/remote Start done on my 2004 Honda Element. All is good so far but during the install we couldn't get a decent voltage read from the Element's tach test wire. All the tech sheets say the tach wire is blue and near the battery. We found it and and it was barely giving us any reading on the test meter, needless to say the Python wasn't reading it either. Finally we just decided to use the fuel injector wire instead. Does anyone know why the tach wire was so weak? Did we have the wrong wire? And is it ok to use the injector wire? I'm not a tech.

Did you have the meter set to AC voltage? Honda's typically test about 6v at idle at the test connector's blue wire. It will rise as you step on the gas.

If the injector is working fine, don't worry about it.

yes we had it set to ac voltage and the read was something like -0.013 and at idle it went up to -.006. It was looooowww voltage, too low for the python to recognize.
