I have a '96 explorer 4 door that i recently installed a Omega Max remote start alarm combo. Everything works just fine on it except when I go to remote start the car. The alarm (aftermarket, not the factory) goes off as soon as i hit the remote start button. I do notice that the dome light comes on when it goes into remote start (but doesnt when i start the car normally). So its almost like the unit is triggering itself...
I am using the smart trigger feature on the omega max so i need only one wire for door trigger and domelight supervision. Even if i disabled this function and hooked up the regular (+) trigger I dont see where this would help? Does anyone know a way around this problem? Are there seperate door triggers that can be used instead of the dome light wire? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

as for the alarm going off, you need to disarm the factory security with the disarm wire on the remote start, ythe vehicle disarm wire is dark GREEN/ purple in a 55 pin connector in the driver kick panel. You must give it a negative pulse.

The door pins are not separate,  you have to use the dome light, BTW it is BLACK/ light blue in the passenger kick panel, it is a positive trigger

I dont need to disarm the factory alarm as this is not the one going off (I do have the factory disarm hooked up though). The trigger wire is also hooked up correctly (+) trigger. Any other ideas?

Well I think I may have figured out a way to get my problem solved as i did find some wiring diagrams for the individual doors and hatch. If anyone is interested here is what i found:

Yellow/black wire in drivers kick: Driver door
Lt. GREEN/ YELLOW wire in driver kick: driver rear door
WHITE/ purple wire in driver kick: Rear hatch
Gray/red wire in pass kick panel: Pass front door
Pink/lt blue wire in pass kick: Pass rear door

All five wires are negative trigger and must be diode isolated together.

I should be able to get to it by midweek and I will post wether or not it worked for me.

It could also be the ignition input to the alarm that is setting it off. Did you bypass it? And also the shock sensor?
