I installed a remote starter / alarm / keyless enty on my 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 2.7 AWD. I followed all the directions and diagrams that I had. I can't figure just one thing out? Every now and again when I go to start it with the remote starter, it will start then stop....??? Yet other times it will start right up? It seems to be happen mostly after I have driven it for alittle while? Can anybody help me with this one, I'm lost????
Thanks,
Jermical
If it starts and runs for a while (more than 10 seconds) then it's probably a tach related problem. Go to the ECM for tach. ECM is located under center console on the driver's side and can be accessed by removing that small panel. The ECM is the lower of the two modules. Tach is the BIG WHITE WIRE in the plug to the far right in a gray shielded cable containing a black and a yellow also.

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.
I have one last question. The remote starter that I bought has a stop & go feature on it. Basiclly you are suposed to be able to push the break in and hit button #3 on the remote then release the break and take the key out, and the truck will still run, untill you put the key back in and hit the break again. I have tryed a few thing and I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.....?? If anybody has any ideas at all on this it would be very helpfull...
Thanks,
Jermical

what kind of remote start is it ?
most remote start tell you to take your foot off the brake because that is what tells the system to transfer from running on the remote start to start running on the vehicle ignition system and vice versa.
try to put the vehicle in park and then take your foot off the brake and press buutton three and see if the parklights comme telling you it is running on remote control, doorlocks should also unlock.
