Hola.

When the 550esp is remotely started, why doesn't it set off the alarm (from vibration, not the starter kill aspect)?

When you install it, do you have to use the factory disarm output to stop the shock sensor from working, or is the system smart enough to know on its own?

Just curious before I install.

Thank!

If the 550 ESP is an alarm + remote starter the internal CPU temporarily disables the shock sensor while the car starts and re-enables it after start. The factory disarm output is only for OEM alarm systems that monitor voltage through the alarm brain and the rest of the system. You have to energize this wire with a (-) pulse just before remote start and during the start cycle but turns off when you disarm the alarm and enter the vehicle.

So disregarding the factory disarm output (because I
think I don't need that wire), why doesn't the car
set off the alarm while it's running. You said it
temporarily disables the shock sensor, but when it
reenables, why doesn't it sense the car running...does
the car just not shake it enough to set it off?

Thanks!

I guess kind of on the same topic...I have the fourth
channel on the remote hooked up to the sunroof (with
your help, of course, thanks...), so is there a way
I can have that relay disarm the brain while I'm
opening the sunroof, and then re-arm when I'm done?
This was I won't have to disarm it everytime I want
to remotely open it.? Thanks!

when the car is runing wether armed while driving or remote started the 550 bypasses shock sensor( only the doors are covered.) it will not turn the shock sensor on whil ethe engine is running when the engine turns off the shock sensor will be available again.

You don't have to worry about the sunroof opening and closing setting off the alarm. I don't think that you have it set that sensitive that the alarm will go off when you open or close the sunroof via remote control..... do you ??
