I am installing a r/s in a 2003 higlander. I have the PKT from trilogix. however the infomation the sent does not match. The wires are different colors than the paper work Or i am having having diffucult locating the harness. I have located a harness that is wrapped in a stiff tape-like loom were i located the ingnition wires, basiclt the R/s is wired except for the PKT mod. Any sussgestions were i can find it . I was told the OBD II was it but they don't match either Thanks ------------- irnotslow

The OBD might not be it since it is used for hooking it up to a tester to test your car.
Are you sure you have a onboard PKT? I have a highlander 03 too and mine dose not have a transponder. I got mine with roof-racks, alloy wheels etc yet no transponder. I wonder why. I installed my RS this past Sunday. If you don;'t need one, you might be looking for something that isn't there. Just double check.

Make sure that the module is getting a proper signal from the RS unit ( this will be a negative signal ). Check all connections to the PKT from the vehicle and also, check to make sure that your ground on the RS is good and solid as this will affect the operation of the bypass module.

I've done a few new highlanders and never had to use a bypass. the door locks are a little tricky though

I had no need for a bypass either. Also I have a few highlander questions for you in case you know the answers.
Besides, these answers might be helpful to Irnotslow as well since he's working on a highlander too.
When you installed the door locks
a) did you use driver's side kickpanel wires or were the wires on the steering wheel column?
b) did you use a relay and 2 diodes or 4 diodes? Some diagrams I looked at show 2 diodes but the kit I received has a diagram with 4.
c) did you get the 2 stage locking to work? if yes, what's the trick if any?
d) do you know where I can find the neutral safety wire? I mean location and color. I know it is not needed but I would like to be completely thorough with my install.
e) if you add a radar sensor, what is the best location for it? I thought of under the center-console. ANy better ideas?
f) is there a danger in drilling a hole on the top center of the console near the windshield? I want to put my status light on there.
g) is there a danger in drilling and putting screws that are 1 inch deep from the engine compartment, through the firewall, right in the center, just below the rubber sealing? I am planning on putting the alarm siren there.
h) which wires did you connect on the vehicle so when you start the ignition, the doors get locked and when you turn off the ignition, the doors unlock?
Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
