i have a buddy who has a 2000 Ford Mustang V6 and wants to put autostart on it.  It is also a stick shift.  I was wondering what the best way is to bypass the chip in the key and to disable the factory alarm so i can put a new one in it.  thanks.

DEI's product 555f to bypass the chip in the key. and don't worry about disabling the factory alarm just piggy back it.

ok thanks for the info.  Which bypass module is easiest or simplest to install on the mustang.  I had trouble with a DEI 555 on a prelude and was hoping there is a better module out there.

85- positive output from remote start (12v when starting)

86-ground

30-one of the pair of wires that must be shorted on clutch switch in car to start

87-the other wire in the pair.

sorry i don't know exactly which wires it is in a mustang.  but you can simply jump two in the clutch pedal switch together w/ a fused link and try to start w/o the clutch depressed and if it starts you've found them.

the dei 555f sucks, they either work on the first try or they can be a real pain the a?s to make work, the easiest, most reliable way to do it is to get a new key from howardkeys.com for $5 make your own antenna ring and go that route. i use to work with astroflex and they had a module that would hard wire into the factory transponder wires and that was the best module ive used for the ford systems, now i just use a new key with a home made antenna ring and they always work flawlessly, i refuse to use the 555f now
