I am going to attempt to install a remote starter in a 94 Honda Accord LX V6 4 door with a manual transmission. I have installed several remote starters before, but never in a manual transmission vehicle. Is there a safe way to make sure the vehicle is in neutral when it is started. I see several companies offer remote starters for manual transmission vehicles, but am not sure how they work.

Get the Clifford G5 line with intellistart IV, Works perfectlty with manual transmission. Befor you get out of the car and before you turn off the ignition, you must put the manual transmission in neutral, set the parking brake (this is how you would normally park a car), and then push a button on the "remote". The alarm will take over the car. You just switch off the car and take out the key and to your surpise the car keeps running with no key in it (the alarms takes care of this). You step out of the car and close the door . then arm your car through the remote. You can then safely remote start your car. If for some reason your car aarm has been tripped or they have opened a door, then the alarm knows that it is not safe to do a remote start. Works like a charm ------------- Clifford Alarms

You have to bypass the clutch wire for this vehicle. Negative Clutch Bypass Circuit The Honda uses a (-) type clutch activation system that requires you to wire in a relay to activate this circuit only during remote start. Use your (-) when running wire to activate the relay. ------------- Jeff

I have used both UltraStart and DesignTech for manual transmission vehicles and I prefer the UltraStart. 1250M. You set the parking brake and stepn the brake pedal twice. When turn off the key the vehicle stays running, after exiting the car and shutting the door the vehicle turns off. This assures that it is in neutral, if you open the door after that you will cancel the remote mode.
