Hi,

I'm having problems getting this alarm/remote start (Innotek a-2000) to work, this alarm is similar to the Boomerang a-2000, Aladdin a-2000 series on a Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T 95-96 . The part that I'm having problems with is the remote start part, by reading various documents at the internet most of them pointed to obtain the tach signal from the ECU of the car, fom various positions, crankshaft possition sensor pin 88, engine ignition signal pin 58, and the alarm has also a oil sensor input/generator, generator states in the manual pin 33 g terminal pin 41 fr terminal, my problems lies in that it seems that the voltages present on all this locations aren't enough to trigger the input on the alarm computer.

The remote start/alarm manual states that the signal can be obtained from two points which are the following:

a) Tach signal: it should read +12 volts when the key is at the off position, 0 volt when the key is at the second position, and on and off when running the starter motor.

b) Oil Sensor: I reads 2~3 volts when the key is at the second position and + 12~14 volts when the starter is running.

Even though the alarm has a couple of quite new options/functions, it doesn't seem to be prepared to work with the low voltages present at the ECU, nor it can learn the rpm/tach signal from the mentioned pin locations.

It will be really helpfull is you can give me some insight on where to obtain this signals from this type of car.

The tach input can be found at the WHITE wire at the instument cluster or at the PCM on the drivers side of the engine compartment or behind the center of the dash depending on motor.

Thanks Jeff,

I tested the mentioned wire and it doesn't seem to provide the voltages which I mentioned nor does it activate the tach sensor in the alarm.

There is a guide about installing alarms for this Mitsubishi Eclipse, has anyone got an idea where can I get it?

I did an install on a 1992 Eclipse ( same as the Mitsubishi and Eagles ) and had a problem with the tach signal as well. I ended up taking out the dash to find the white wire and I installed the Aladdin a-2000 system into this vehicle. None of the other wires I used worked , just the instrument cluster wire worked for me. Just make sure that the car has run for AT LEAST 10 minutes before trying to learn the tach. Also, make sure that you are going through the tach learning procedures flawlessly, otherwise the system will not acknowledge the tach learn to be successful. Post your results.

I took out the dash, it has three rectangular connectors with about 14 connectors each, with 7 at each side, that lead to left, center and right. There is a white cable but is not white solid, it has a silver line across.

Unfortunately behind behind the tach there seems to be a signal convertor of some kind.
