My alarm has a zone 4 (-) input trigger for the trunk. Im trying to figure out how to hook this up to set off my alarm off when the trunk is opened. I was told that the trunk pin wire is grey (-) triggered at the trunk light. But when I test this wire it shows ground with the trunk closed and opened. This wire is not at the light it but runs along with an orange wire that shows 12Volts connected to a black wire connected to the light. They show 12Volts at all times. How should i hook my alarm to this?? My car is a 1991 Buick Regal.

if my memory serves me correct, this car doesn't have a trunk pin wire. you have to install a pinswitch at the trunk.

trunk trigger is GRAY at the light in the trunk. It is a (-) trigger wire.

Yes this I know but where do I connect my alarm wire?????? The gray wire shows negative all the time. Shoudn't it be positive til open. And the only wire connected at the light is orange and the light's base is the ground.

If there are only two wires there, one should read 12 volts while the other reads ground. When the trunk is opened, the 12 volt wire should read ground. If this is not the case and the system is opposite of what I decribed, then the trunk light circuit is a (+) type ( rests at ground and then 12 volts when opened ). If this is the case, you will need to use a relay and reverse the polarity of the wire for the alarm or use the (+) door trigger wire for the trunk if you don't have a 2 way LCD system.
