I am currently looking at the Avantguard 5 or the Matrix RSX 3.5

This is for my '03 Avalanche. I have found probably the best GM installer in the state to install my alarm, (fellow Avalanche owner too) He is offering GREAT prices, and I have seen his truck to verify the guy knows what he is doing and how to install alarms, video, audio...

Problem is I really don't know too much about newer vehicle alarms. If anyone can provide more input or feedback about these alarms, please help me out here.

I would like to leave the rear glass out of the truck during summers, so adding motion sensors will be somthing I am looking at with the Matrix.  I really would like the 2 way remote, but if I don't get the range or it results in less security I will pass on the 2 way remote.

Looking for remote start, good security with interior motion, and later I will add power window modules.

It looks easy to add the interior motion and omni sensors to the Matrix alarm after installed.  Is this something that I can buy and install myself at a later time as I buy a second remote, or should I just go with the Avantguard 5 now with all those sensors but lose the 2 way remotes?

Thanks for your input and help.

Both are nice systems, but I would go with the Avantguard G5 (super nice alarm).    It is just a matter of choice.    Avantguard you dont have 2 way, but you have omni, proximity, and tilt sensors.

If you get de Matrix, then I would definetely recommend the 508D radar sensor.

Your choice.

Does anyone know what the feature "transmitter zap" is with the RSX3.5 alarm?

it sets all programmable features to factory defaults and erases all transmitters from the main brain
