i want to buy a viper remote start (160 or 560) but can't find one anywhere. there are a lot of sites that offer the valet remote starts which is made by DEI. i was just wondering if the two are as good and reliable.

Just about any more they are. Some have features that others dont but they are all pretty much the same.

Vipers usually have better range compared to Valet.

Viper, Clifford and Python are all the same.
Valet, Hornet, Avital, Wasp, Boa, and any other bug name I may have missed are all the same quality.

wblakes, try looking for the comparable Python models (1400XP or 1600XP). Check out www.autotoys.com

actually yes they are all the same, the only difference is the Valet comes with an HF+ active antenna and the Viper comes with an XHF antenna for a bitter better range and transmitter stability.... the guts are identical and the dealer may be able to upgrade you to XHF if you ask him or are willing to pay a little more....
