I'm trying to use a DEI 555L and just need help with 3 wires. I need to know exactly where they need to be connected and the location and color of the wires they'll be connected to in an 02 trailblazer. I don't know where the passlock is so some detail would be great. These are the ones need to know:
BLACK / YELLOW R-Code, output to BCM: to the side of the resisxtance wire facing away from the ignition switch
Yellow R-Code, ignition switch: to the ignition switch side of the Passlocki system's cut resistance wire
Black (-) Passlock ground input: to the Passlock system's ground reference wire
they run right along with the primary ign wires... they are very thin gauge approx. 22 ga. but you'll find them together with the rest of the wires coming from the ign switch

hey deathsythe,
DONT mess with the passlock wires, by cutting them. If your bypass unit fails the cars WONT start, even with key .just buy a PLDATA type of bypass, 4 wire hook up, 1 12 volt (-) 1 12 volt (+), 1 to purple wire on OBD II connector, 1 to RS unit neg out when start, If PLDATA fails the car will still be able to start via the key

The 555L keeps the yellow passlock wire connected on a normally closed circuit. If the bypass fails the car won't start with the remote start, but will still start with the key. If you unplug the bypass then yes the car will not start with the key or remote, but that shouldn't be an issue. Either way the 555L and PLDATA are both good bypasses I would recommend either. PLDATA is definately a much easier install.
With that said the wires your looking for are black or ORANGE / black and yellow. If you pull off the shroud around the ignition cylinder look at the cylinder you'll see a small harness with a bunch of thin gauge wires coming off of it. You'll commonly find in that harness white - yellow - light green - ORANGE / black or black and RED / white. The yellow and black or ORANGE / black are the ones you need. Normally 2002's are yellow and ORANGE / black but the 2003's are yellow and black which is why I keep mentioning both. If your too lazy to pull the shroud off you can usually pick out the wires you need by see which ones are running down close to the RED / white and light green wires, but you should pull the shroud to be sure. Good luck,
Mike
