Subject: installing Air Wolf Two-Way remote start

Hi,

I am installing an Air Wolf (By Design Tech) two-way remote start unit on my 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. To start off with, I  also purchased a model PKG4 transponder interface bypass, to bypas Pass-Key III module. The instructions state that the module is above gas pedal. It,s not even on the drivers side that I see. I don't think I'll have a problem wiring in the pkg4 once I find the darned thing, as long as the wire colors are correct on the instructions!

My second problem is that Air Wolf has +outputs for start, ign.#1,ign.#2, and accessory. My ign. switch is mounted in the dash, and apears to have -(neg) trigger outputs for start, ign., and accessory. I'm not 100% positive on this, but the wire color diagram that goes with the Air Wolf doesn't come close with the wire colors. All of the wires from the ign. switch are probbably 18ga. I'm assuming only operating relays. There is a seperate set of three wires that I think ultimately go to the pass-key III module (where ever it's at?). Today I'm going to check out the passenger side for the pass-key module. What I'm really concerned about is the ign. switch wiring. Am I going to have to use relays for start, ign., and accessory? I am hoping to find a relatively easy way to start this vehicle remotely. I would greatly appreciate any help I could get.

                                               Thanks

The easyies way to get to that is to take out the radio and woirk form there. There should be all your wires in there except for horn. parklights, brake and locks. The wires for the passlock should be in there as well.

no offense but from the questions you posed you should not be doing this. 04 GP is kinda hard car and i'm almost sure pkg4 does not work on 04, must put key in box, and there are other issues too. best left to a pro.

No offense to ya sir but the info is the same as the 03 and it states

*This car is equipped with GM's Passkey III Anti-Theft System. Use Universal Alarm Bypass Module part # 2x402 where X can be any number.

And any reasonable person would check all wires before hooking them up...or do people not ready our sigs

Thanks for your input, I have installed remote starters in the past. But I will admit I haven't done one  for five years. The last one that I did was 98' Grand Cherokee w / OEM alarm. I have't done one with the use of a "NKR". The wiring diagram that was posted by bmf100d is the exact diagram that I obtained from DesignTech's web page. The wire colors that they refer too are not there. I had the ignition switch in my hand. That's when I determined that this switch is only driving relays. The switch itself doesn,t conduct any significant current. Any further info would help me.   Thanks captain5449

                 Thanks bmf1000d,

This diagram looks more like it. Would you also be able to tell me if I need to use a PKG4 or a PKG5 pass-key III bypass. There seems to be a lot of different opinions on the subject. I'm going to make some phone calls today to try to get to the bottom of it. If you could help me any further I would appreciate it !

                                                                             Thanks,
