installed a remote start w/ keyless in a 01 fullsize chevy van.  all is well until the vehicle is started...

once remote started, there is absolutely no range.  i disconnected the parking lights because i was told the dash lights give off an rf that may interfere with range.  still no luck.

all the basics check out - what can be done to combat the interference from the vehicle?

IS it a converson van?

Was it a 2way pager RS?

IF nothing else move the antenna to see iof you can clear it up that way other wise you may have to shield the anntenna wire from the van.

if it has a factory alarm, there could be interference from that, you must change frequency. I know for a fact that can be an issue.

Well I have the Omega Max with the Echo 2 way remote. I have the same problem. The remote will almost not work at all after its running. My antenna is in the upper driver corner ofthe windshield.

forgot to mention ...

Maybe if all of the people that have this problem could post what kind of vehicle and alarm they have we could start gathering some helpful info. Also if users could post about things they have tried that seem to help or not help that would be nice too. In my car I have this set of wires running up my pillar where my antenna wire is running that goes to the lights in my rearview mirror. I think these lights come on with RS. Maybe I will try running my antenna wire somewhere else. Lastly, I would like to know if the problem happens only with 2 way or any alarm?

we have tried letting the module hang down so that it is not near any vehicle components and also held the antenna, cord and all, out the driver's window and still no range while running...

p.s. it's a DEI 560 alarm/start (not a 2-way system)

any ideas would be appreciated
