Thanks in advance.
I have read the relay section here and thought I understood, but now am more confused. I have a remote starter that supplys a single pulsed (-) negative output during starting, my dei 555f FORD PATS bypass requires a constant (-)negative feed while enginee is starting to send PATS code to ignition. Can someone provide a simple relay / resistor configuration for this, I see the 2 relay (-) pulsed to +12 constant which I understand enough to then feed the +12v to a third relay wired to provide a - while the 3rd relay is charged,
My problem is that I dont undetand when/what/and how to "have the 3rd relay deactivate". It says energized until (-) or +12 is removed form the original 2 relays, but Im dealing with a single pulsed (-) output to try to control this whole thing. My last attempt at understanding this would be that the first two relays (both) 30 connections and 2nd relay's 85 could be supplied by the remote start's +12v feed to the starter wire past the starter kill controls.
That means when I am hitting the remote start button, the +12volt will be supplied by the remote start feed to the starter (I assume I will need one way diodes in here, have no clue, little help) to the +12volt on all three relays. The neg pulse (-) feed will cause relay 1 to activate relay 2 which activates the constant (-) feed from relay 3. When the remote start module is done trying to send +12volt to start the system, the entire 3 relays will loose their +12volt feed.
After all that, seems like I could just wire a relay with +12fused from remote starter feed to energize a relay wired to provide (-) when engergized, providing (-) neg constant while motor is turning to PATS bypass, I'd only bee sending the chip signal while the starter was cranking, but that is how I invision that it should work. What kind of diode should I use on the (-) negative feed to the pats bypass, what other diodes should I use.
As you can see I am really confused here, and Im sure someone has a simple "do this" please help. Thanks
Guess I should have bought a alarm that DIDNT share the constant (-) output for OEM bypass whie remote starting OR aux 1 output, as I have already wired this lead to power down the windows.
Any help please...
Thanks
CS-2015FM Informer by crimestopper. I spent some more time reading (or not reading what the alarm cant do) and just ordered a Viper 791XV. The two aux outputs on the crimestopper, 1 pulsed, and 1 momentary just were not going to cut it for me. I have 4 windows all up, and additional modules for partial up/down, Under carriage lighting, etc, etc. So I said screw it and went with the Viper, besides, I have quite a dew dei modules that I believe direct integrate rather than having to diode and splice into 1 set or warn/trigger, 4 zones on the viper.
Let me get this CS out, the viper installed and give it all a run for my money. Then Im sure I will have questions...
