Just got a 2004 Sequoia for my wife. No factory or dealer keyless on it. There is a transponder in the key, and there appears to be a factory alarm that sets with the door locks. I will be installing a Code Alarm remote start/alarm combo (630 I think) this weekend. I have read some of the posts on the 2001-02 Sequoias--seems like the locks and factory alarm disable are the sticky spots. Can you guys post the wiring diagram for the '04 and any advice on the locks and alarm disable (without unlocking the doors during remote start). Thanks for the help--I haven't been in the install bay since I got out of college in 2000.

The factory alarm arms when the doors are locked and disarms when they are unlocked. It also disarms when the key is in the ignition.
In order to disarm for remote start, you need to ground the keysense wire with your remote start's ground-when-running output.
To operate the doorlocks, there will be three wires that you need to deal with. They can be found inside the driver's or passenger front doors at the door ECUs.
The wires in the driver's door will unlock the driver's door only with the first pulse, and unlock the other doors with a second pulse. The wires in the passenger door unlock all doors with a single pulse.
The wire colors and hookup are as follows;
RED / yellow - lock detection wire(cut to lock, ground to unlock)
lt. GREEN/ black - lock wire(ground to lock)
lt. GREEN/ red - unlock wire(ground to unlock).
Connect the negative unlock output from your alarm to the lock detection wire and the unlock wire, making sure to diode isolate them.
Connect the negative lock output from the alarm to the lock wire and to terminal 85 of a relay. Connect terminal 86 of the relay to fused constant 12v+, cut the lock detection wire, and connect 87a and 30 each to a side of that wire.
This all sounds bizarre, but it's really not that bad when you actually do it. PM me if you have any other questions/requests for clarification, etc.

I do have a few questions, though:
Does the lock detection wire have any function other than arming and disarming the factory alarm? (I'm wondering why I have to interrupt the lock detection wire when locking)
Is the rest of the wiring the same as the 01-02 Sequoia? I have already printed up that diagram.

the lock detection wire is necessary to have the alarm control the power locks. basically the wire tells the door ECU what position the actuator is in. I've never understood why Toyota does this, but it is necessary to interface with that wire.
The rest of the wiring should be the same as the '01-'02 Sequoia. It's pretty straightforward Toyota, which is nice for installers.
