Everything is installed and seems to work...except for one problem.  I cant start the car.  When I try to start it to program the tach sensor, the starter turns over, but the car itself will not start.  Any idea? (BTW, I have tried starting it in valet, out of valet, with the system disconnected, and with the fuses simply pulled.)  This is on a 1988 Mazda MX-6 DX Manual Tranny.

So the car will not start even with the key at this point?

Also what model number etc is the remote start unit?

No...That is the only way I have tried to start it is with the key...  I have to get it started to program the tach sensor.

Did you test the starter wire and is it getting 12 volts when the cylinder is turned over to the start position ? Have you tried pulsing 12 volts to the starter wire itself with the key in the ON/RUN position ? The starter wire may have been severed or something wierd like that.

Well it sounds to me like you probably have a bad connection or wrong connection with the  ignition wires. The only thing that should have changed from when you started the install that has to do with the engine running (in most cases here) is the ignition wire(s) and the starter wire have been cut. You said the starter cranks so that isnt the problem. Check for +12V on the ignition wire on the key side and on the vehicle side. If you dont have +12V and you have double checked wire colors and connections then you may have something wrong with the units internal relays. See what you get and let us know.
