Hello all I'm new here and have some simple questions. First; Are alarm wireing universal like stereo's? I havean alarm I picked up about three mounths ago and lost the dirrections for install.  If so, Is there somewere on this sight that can give me wireing diagrams for my alarm? It has a remote start and power locks and trunk release. The car came with remote trunk but no power locks. So I will have to add poer locks, I already have a three prong lock switch and two acuators. What else will I need? I did find my vehical in the on the sight so I'm one step closer to making this happen.

Thank you for all the help!

John

As far as universal no not really. You could do a search at google entering your alarm info and see if you can download a manual. You could list it here in this thread as well maybe someone is familiar with your unit. You should also list what type of car. Year make model. The more info you provide here the better your chances for help.

Hey Boomer thanks for the googles Idea. I think I have it all figured out thanks to that vehical information area. I still have a couple of questions though. there is a set of wires running to the ignition and then another set for the remote start. does this sound correct to you? There is one more wire that is killing me. Its a yellow wire that runs to a relay that has two greens, 1 red, and 1 yellow wire coming from it. It is marked "The Engine Broken Circuit Return." thanks for any help on this.

Ya John there will be lots of wires. Alarms also typically get power at the ignition as well as the starter kill feature being wired in there. As far as the broken engine return thats where the manual would come in handy. It should tell you what that is for. Without the manual how are you telling what wire colors from your unit go where? Are they marked on each wire or on the circuit board or something? If so thats good. What unit is this?

No your googles idea worked well. I am yousing a giordon 686. I have the copy of the manuals. I think I have it all figured out.  My only big question is this hole engine broke curcuit return. one wire coonects to the alarm (yellow), the red one connects to the key on 12v, then there are 2 green wires that interrupts the high coil wire that connects to the 12v key on wire.. my only real question is: which does the green wires interrupt. boomer youve been great. thanks alot man.

Hi John I believe the interrupt is for the starter and the post in the link below seems to indicate that. What I did was a search on this site for engine broke circuit. It seems your not the only one confused by this particular unit.

Hello All Its me again. I have a question on my alarms remote start. When I click it the alarm makes a bunch of clicks and that is all. but when i start the car and then shut it off (By way of the key ignition) the car doesn't shut off. The only way to shut the car off is to hit the doort unlock button. I'm lost ,I connected the alarm by the book and the alarm company apparrently don't do emails.

Thanks,

John

Is the system a manual only system ?

Is the car a manual or automatic ?

Did you use a bypass module for the PATS ?

From what it sounds like the PATS has not been bypassed properly.

I thought so too but my car dosen't have PATS. I use normal walmart keys to start the car. The only thing I could think of is that I connected the tach wire wrong. So I changed that and it still didn't work. all the relays click and the car makes all of its funny noises but its not engaging the starter.  I dont know.

Thanks for the help,

John

Hey John, did you end up using those GREEN wires on the Starter wire ?? If so disconnect them and reconnect the starter wire. Try it out and post your results.

That is very funny that you mention that. After I typed my last post I thought about that. however the effect was nil. I have a new question for you? Do the airbags air bags have any effect on the speed sensor?

Thanks for all the help

Hey HS, did you ever figure out how to get it to remote start?  I think I have the same system as you but I can't figure out the remote start from the remote.
