I just got my car back from having a new engine installed and the power door locks no longer unlock in response to the remote/manual unlock

I can only unlock them through the key if outside of the car (and might I ad its hard to turn-however its a copied key so that could be it)

I checked the relay that's hooked up(This is a nissan 240sx which uses the single wire-break to lock-pulse ground to unlock)

I disconnected the relay completely from the setup, reconnected the original two ends of the factory wire just for testing.  When broken, the doors lock-- as they should.  However, when grounded the doors DO NOT unlock, which they should.

As far As I know the 12v and Grounds on the alarm are all still proper, nothing should have changed there, and The 12v fused to the relay is good also.

Could it be that the guys at the shop inadvertantly fried my actuators when installing (discconing battery cables and whatnot)  Or would the doors NOT lock at all if the actuators were broken?

Sorry for the long post, I'm new here, but If anyone can, PLEASE HELP

Thanks-

Nick

They may have fried your actuators, but if they still work one way I doubt it.  I actually fried mine the other day, and replaced them, but the doors still only worked 1 way.  (I have two relays hooked up for the actuators).  So, I swapped out both relays with two others, and they worked!  So I think I might have also fried one of the two relays as well.  Just a suggestion.  You may be able to test your relay......I asked how to do it here, and sparky repled:

Some more info:

I noticed that the locks WILL lock, but only after the ignition is turned on (the alarm is an old viper 300esp) and it has the autolock after ignition on feature (3sec delay)

but this is the only time that it automatically locks (It also does not UNLOCK itself after i turn the ignition off)

Anyone have any clues? It seems to be getting wierder
