Hey! This is a great forum!

I have a dumb question, but I just love the sound of an awesome car alarm siren, but in the bmw z3's does anyone know what siren/alarm system that is? I installed my alarm system myself on my car and hate that it sounds like everyone elses it goes through 6 different tones and does a dumb high pitch beep beep when it arms and disarms.

Thanks for any help!

Most BMW systems from the past have been Alpine's and I know the Alpine sirens do not have 6 tones. Are you sure this is a OEM BMW alarm system and not just a dealer installed aftermarket system ? The 6 tone sirens are aftermarket in most cases ( I could be wrong ).

jeff, i highly doubt that you're wrong.

i have yet to see an OEM bmw alarm system that has a six tone siren. maybe a substitution of that original siren was made somewhere along the way, or like jeff said, it's not a OEM alarm system in there. in any case, just find a siren with the sound that you like, and replace the existing one.

good luck!

Just a reminder to ensure that the output from the alarm and the new siren are the same polarity. What I mean by that is some sirens require a (+) signal from the alarm while the other wire is grounded and other's are the opposite where you have a (-) signal coming from the alarm and the other siren wire has to be on 12 volts.
