Hi, i have an 88 mustang convertible, and i was just wandering how i would hook the door locks up to my alarm so that when i disarm the alarm the doors unlock and when i arm it they lock. And how do i find the negative inputs of an alarm and the positive?

what type of alarm is it?

It is an Avital. I don't know what model though

Ok so i found out that there is one Blue wire for (+) lock and (-) unlock and another green wire for (-) lock and (+) unlock. so i hooked up the blue lock to the pink/light green wire and to the ground on unlock and the green wire to the ground on lock and the pink / YELLOW wire on unlock. And nothing happens. Does this mean i will need a relay? if so, what kind and where can i buy one?

its a 5wire system you'll have to use the 451m module that came with the avital alarm.

If it is a 5 wire lock system then cant i use the diagram on https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#5w for the five wire system?

I really need help with hooking up my door locks to my alarm. I have a 88 ford mustang convertible and an Avital 2100 series alarm. the locks are controlled by an actuator with two wires coming from it. if you put + to one and - to the other the door will lock. When you reverse those the door will unlock. Please, I need help!
