io have a question about wiring up relay packs for alarms for the various things you needthem forlike dome light, horn ,trunk realese etc..
i done a few alarms but my problem is wiring all these relays up and keeping it neat. most relays need an constant 12v and a ground and it gets messy tieing all those wires together so i was wondering how you guys do it and keep it neat. any good trick or sites you have with some pics.
also is it ok to wire the 12v constant and grounds to each realy in sireies form one relay to the next
thanks please let me know
I kind of had the same question in the Relays forum...I had asked if you could "piggyback" the relays...and it seems like if you do it on a small scale it's ok. For example, if you have to have 2 wires from a relay going to 12v+, you can connect one to the other, and then that one to the 12v+....so only one wire needs to attach to the 12v+. That's one sort of trick that I know of. But I know what you mean...I have a relay for domelight, trunk, accessory, and so on....gets difficult to hide them with so many.

thanks
anyone have tips for keeping everything neat during an alarm install with lots of relays????
please help
thanks
use flex loom to keep all your wires neat and use constant 12 volts off one wire for all relays as long as it can handle the current then it is fine.ground as well u can use one wire as long as current capable.and thast it using flex loom will make your job verry clean and profesional.
how do i know if it can handle the current. im porbabbly using about 4 realys like i said but not all will be used at once is this ok??
please let me know
thanks
i would stick with wiring two relay in series.also lay the brain out on a table or something and figure out where each wire is going. (ie 12 volt constant ign., starter) tape them all together. and do this for locks, door trigger, dome light. you see where i'm going with this if any two wires go to a general area close to each other tape them up together completely covered in tap. it makes it easier to work with and is clean looking.
