i was asked buy a guy can he have a remote start hooked to his car with out having new remotes and just use the oem ones. so i am asking can u i waould say yes but the only thing would u use like the the lock button to start it or what it has a lock/unlock/trunk.....that is all the buttons. And i think i saw on tv a guy pushed the lock and unlock button and it started so does the factory remotes have a free channel to start a car ?

not really a free channel but i think hitting the lock button twice withing 2 seconds will give the start brain the signal it needs ... only problem is the range on factory setups is not very far which kinda defeats the purpose of remote start

You can hook up a RS to and OEM alarm but like stated before what is the point. The new chev malibu come with the option to have a OEM RS on them. IT would be alot of work you could tap into the factory antenna and replace it with and aftermarket one but thats alot of time and work that you can have done in about 3 hours for a whole new alarm RS.
