i have a hoodlock output on my alarm system. you hook the hoodlock to the purple wire and the other wire is supposed to be hooked to constant 12v+ can i use a pin switch instead or something like it? 

also my led light is also the valet switch....can i use a regular led and splice in a push button switch if this original led/valet goes bad? any ideas are appreciated.
