Hi, my sister's 1998 Grand Prix GTP has mysteriously been having trouble starting.  The car would start normal sometimes, and other times it will start, then idle for 1 sec and die out.  This happens sporadically and with no warning.  ANYWAYS, the reason this is in the car security forum is because the car has been takin to the dealer and they can find no problem mechanically with the car, and they think it is probably the alarm that is causing this.  The alarm was installed by a shop and all I have is the operating instructions.  I do know that a starter interrupt was also installed.  My QUESTION is can this alarm be causing the car to randomly shut off after it is started?????  There is NO fuel pump relay or cut off switch installed so I cant understand how an alarm can be causing this problem, even though the mechanics at the dealership claim it might be the alarm???  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated  posted_image

the only thing that can be happening is you may have an ignition kill installed this can cause the problem you describe. But i dought this alarm is doing this what i would do is find the fuse on the red wire going to the alarm and pull it to see if th eproblem stops if not tell mechganic it is not the alarm.
