Subject: Window Modules in Viper550ESP

I just completed installing 2 DEI 530T windows modules in my vehicle. I connected the modules to the channel 4 output on the 550ESP brain. Instead of the windows rolling up upon arming the system, the windows roll up as soon as I turn off the ignition. Is there some type of programming I need to do to the 550ESP to tell it to trigger the channel 4 output to the module when the alarm is armed instead of when the ignition is turned off? Also, how do I program my transmitters to use the "aux" button to vent the windows etc? Thanks

Are you using the orange, "ground when armed", wire off the module?  I've never done it before, but I thought you had to use that so if the alarm goes off it will rollup the windows.  I could be dead wrong, but just an idea.

Yes it is hooked up to the ground when armed wire...although I've seen some posts that elude to possibly needing a 1amp diode inline because the ground when armed wire is also the starter kill relay wire...

yes you need  a diode on the oranger wire this is your problem most likely.a 1 amp is fine you may also need to turn off the anti grind circuit as well for when operating while remote started.

when your ignition is turned off the orange wire can see a ground from the ignition you have to have a diode there to block this ground .

in4004 will be fine stripe towards the brain and that should solve problem. your 530 t will be wired onthe side of the stripeof the diode.

Ok...I installed the diode and no change...When I turn the ignition off the windows go up. I have also vented the windows and armed the alarm and then triggered the alarm and the windows stay down... any ideas?

I have the RED / wht wire from the window modules going to the violet/blk wire off the aux harness...the orange from the  window mod is going to the orange in the 12-pin primary harness as per the instruction manual...is this not correct?

Its a 2001 Ford Expedition...on a side note...I hooked up a relay to enable illuminated entry and it works fine when the vehicle hasn't been remote started...when I remote start it, illuminated entry doesnt work...weird huh? ANy help with the locks would be much appreciated...I know I have to get some relays and resistors etc...

Another question...I have 2 529T's (up only on arm)in a 2001 PT Cruiser, is there anyway to bypass the modules so that I can leave my windows open besides disabling the alarm?

Sorry about all the questions but I'm new to security system installations....Thanks again!

Gary
