I am looking for some wiring info the these types of trucks. I have a company that wants me to install GPS tracking systems in some big rigs. they all have power locks. i will need the main wiring info as if i was installing an alarm. this units will only unlock the doors. the other issue is the unit have a wire to disable the starter. now the relay can be triggered from a phone call to the unit. not all truck have a starter wire. some use air to start. so i may have to use a fuel shut off type system. if anyone has some info that may help, please feel free to send it to me @

You will need to use a DMM on the wires for this truck. Becareful though because some systems on the truck are 24 volts.

one really annoying thing is that these trucks sometimes use wiring that's all the same colour! as am example, the entire bunch of wires leading to the ignition cylinder may be yellow, all wires related to lighting or illumination could be tan, etc.
good luck!

Yes most of the wires are the same color, but they are numbered. Do the first one using the meter then write the wire number down, be careful there is a wire number and the length number. If the truck is a Mack then open the glove box and there are posts that you can use ring terminals on to tie into power, ign, ground, etc...

if you know which bundle a wire is in, but not which one it is... you can use a signal injector and tracer. if you can find one end of the wire that you want to locate somewhere in the middle of its run, you can "inject" a signal and then find it with the tracer (kind of acts like a stud finder over the wire with the injected signal). partsexpress.com sells them, you may find one useful. good luck
