I have put in several Viper 550's and other much simpler systems without issues,    soldered every joint!   and never had any issues.    Is the compustar much more difficult to install ?   I like the Increased range of the COMPUSTAR and the Spreadspectrum comm system

it's all the same stuff. you'll discover as you try on different brands that they all ask you to connect to pretty much the same wiring.

btw, i've insalled many of those spreadspectrum compustars and discovered that the range really isn't as impressive as they advertise. but then of course, that's true for the advertising of most products.

good luck!

All companies has their down falls and their proven models. If your comfortable with a certain brand, then stick with it as it will install faster and you know the programming for it. If you want to broaden your installation horizens, then try something different and you might be surprised at some of the other systems available out on the market. This way you can get experience with the good and the bad stuff.
