OK yesterday I finally finished installing in a 99 Tahoe. Everything works perfect except the remote start. When I hit the button twice to start the lights flash but nothing else happens. I know it is possible to be a instalation error but I really don't think so. I was triple checking everything along the way of the install. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem on this unit? What are the chances of this just being a bad alarm brain?

did you bypass the passlock2 system that is a pretty reliable system so check your work and did you program tach??

Yes that is all taken car of. The problem is the starter will not engage. You can feel and here a relay inside the box that switches the lights on but that is all that happens. Even if it was a tach problem or Passlock the starter does ot turn to find out.

Do the Audiovox unit have some sort of shut down diagnostics. DEI units have a shut down diagnostics that uses LED flashes to report why the alarm won't remote start.

After beating my head against a wall for a couple of hours I figured it out. Now its works perfect. I went back and read the instuctions. I never put the alarm in a learn mode for the tach signal. As soon as I did that all is well.

This sight has been a big help. I was very skeptacle about taking our truck to someone else that may or may not have know what he was doing. Also now I am the only one that knows where what is. I like it that way.
