Hello all,

I am about to intsall a compustar alarm in a 2000 golf (4door) and  I have a few questions.

1.  Do I have to pull door triggers from each door module ??

2.  Which specific wires should I diode isolate and what size should be used for each wire??

Does anyone have any tips before I dive into this !!!!!

thanks for any info in advance !!!!!

if i were you i just use the blue/gray and go into the programming and turn off the chirp that goes on when you arm. i think the domelight stays on about 15sec that's why the alarm won't arm instantly but will after the domelight goes off. or you can do it the hard way and run all the wires and isolate them with i amp diodes.

under your instrument panel next to your steering column on the left hand side you'll see the factory alarm module. you should be able to find all the door triggers, plus the trunk pin and the hood pin there. i believe lock and unlock are there too, but strangely not on all models. just use 1 amp diodes and you'll be fine. starting around that year, either 2000 or 2001, there is a factory transponder-style immobilizer that you'll need to by-pass to remote start. you will have to give up one of your keys in order to do it if your car does indeed have that immobilizer. use a DEI 555U or something similar.

good luck!
