So I noticed some of these alarm claims to have a manual transmission compatibility, it seems it's really only enforcement, where it makes you exit the car and will not shut off the engine until you close the door. If you try it any other way, the remote start will not be be possible to use. That way no one can every park it in gear. Well almost. Unless you climb out the window. hehe. My question is if the DEI alarms has it because it claims to be for automatic cars only

Yes, I believe that DEI does make an alarm for manual transmissions. I forgot which one, but it's one of the Clifford models. ------------- Trav

not anymore they dont... as of the G5 line they want nothing to do with manuals, although i understand the remote IS module from the G4 will work still

The Clifford G5 series still is capable of manual transmissions. I have done quite a few of them already. There is still the wire that you have to ground if it is an automatic. The G5's are also very simple to install.

All remote starts are capable of starting a manual transmission. That doesn't make them safe.

The last reply is correct. All remote stats are capable of starting a manual transmission. I would suggest finding a remote start that is specifically made for manual transmissions. Should you install a remote start that is for automatic transmissions, you take the risk of the vehicle being able to start while in gear.

I have a RS installed in my Eclipse 5sp and it works fine. IT works like you described... but if I want to park it in gear (ie. on a hill...) once I remove the key, I tap the brakes two times and it will shut off the car, and cancel the reserve mode (it cannot be remote started again until I start the car, turn off key.....) But you want to make sure you use one designed for manual trans. or else it can be dangerous!
